How do you care for lychees?

Over fifteen hectares with five thousand lychee trees, many of which are over thirty years old, our lychee orchard, located in the village of Chão, municipality of Giáp Sơn, district from Lục Ngạn, Bac Giang, is an address recognized by lychee lovers throughout the country.

In order to produce pure, tasty and healthy lychees, we rigorously apply lychee cultivation techniques that meet GlobalGAP standards. Depending on the age of the tree and its growth, our farmers will choose the appropriate time to carry out the pruning.

Just after harvesting the previous season, gardeners will prune the branches to create an open space, allowing new growth to grow evenly. The second stage takes place around November, the farmers will continue to prune the thin, small and poorly developed branches on the trunk of the tree, leaving the buds well nourished. This increases the rate of fruiting, facilitates care, fertilization, prevention of pests and diseases, as well as harvesting.

Generally, after Chinese New Year, at the end of January or the beginning of February, lychees will start to bloom. Gardeners will use plant protection products to avoid pests, insects, worms that attack flower buds. These products are approved by GlobalGAP standards, guaranteeing food safety and the absence of residues in the lychees during harvest. When the flowers fade and the lychee fruits begin to form the size of green beans, the trees will be fertilized with organic fertilizers to provide nutrients and boost their health.

When lychee fruit reaches a size similar to that of a pea, gardeners will spray lime around the base of the tree to disinfect and prevent the soil acidification, thereby reducing weeds. As harvest approaches, farmers will use infused organic products made with garlic, chilli, ginger and lemongrass. These products help control pests and diseases, are safe for users, environmentally friendly, and allow lychees to reach consumers’ hands safely, with great taste and attractive appearance. span>
